Duties
- Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen supervisors
- Supporting the organisation of storage areas and ensuring all items are correctly labelled and stored
- Maintaining cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and communal areas within the kitchen
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Supporting the team during busy service periods to ensure efficient workflow
- Adhering to all health and safety policies to maintain a safe working environment
Skills
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality environments is desirable but not essential
- Familiarity with restaurant, hotel, or culinary settings would be advantageous
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Strong understanding of hygiene standards within a professional kitchen
