Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals in both home care and care home settings. This position requires effective communication skills, a commitment to following care plans, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and families. OWN CAR AND DRIVING AND EXPERIENCE IS ESSENTIAL
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Support clients in following their individual care plans to ensure their health and wellbeing.
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required, ensuring their safety and comfort during transport.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in condition to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members, demonstrating empathy and understanding at all times.
- Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes as necessary.
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in healthcare practices.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing.
- A valid driving licence is desirable for transporting clients.
- Familiarity with care plans and an understanding of home care or care home environments is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on providing compassionate care.
- Basic IT skills for documentation purposes are required.
