Duties
- Greet guests warmly and ensure they feel welcomed upon arrival.
- Take accurate food and drink orders, providing recommendations and upselling where appropriate.
- Serve food and beverages efficiently, maintaining high standards of presentation and quality.
- Ensure all health and safety regulations, including food safety standards, are strictly adhered to during service.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed, supporting kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Manage guest enquiries promptly, resolving any issues with professionalism and courtesy.
- Clear tables promptly and maintain cleanliness in the dining area throughout service hours.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using the POS system, ensuring proper billing procedures.
- Support colleagues during busy periods to ensure seamless service delivery.
Skills
- Proven experience in hospitality or restaurant environments, with a strong understanding of guest service principles.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling of food and beverages.
- Experience in food preparation or kitchen operations is advantageous.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tables efficiently.
- Strong time management skills to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Good communication skills, able to engage guests positively and handle requests courteously.
- Basic maths skills for processing payments accurately.
- Culinary experience or knowledge of menu items can enhance guest interactions through informed recommendations.
