Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Residential Children's Support Worker to provide compassionate care and support to children in a residential setting. The successful candidate will play a vital role in fostering a safe, nurturing environment, assisting with daily activities, and supporting the emotional and behavioural development of children. Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day care and supervision for children in line with individual care plans
- Support children with their personal hygiene, meals, and recreational activities
- Foster positive relationships through effective communication and active engagement
- Assist with the development and implementation of personalised care plans
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, adhering to safeguarding policies
- Facilitate transport for appointments or outings using company vehicles, subject to driving licence requirements
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and progress reports
- Collaborate with colleagues, social workers, and families to support children's needs
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or in childcare settings is desirable
- Valid driving licence is preferred to assist with transportation needs
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and team members
- Knowledge of child development and behavioural management strategies
- IT literacy for maintaining records and completing documentation accurately
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting vulnerable young people
- Ability to work flexibly across shifts as required by the role.
- Preferably a qualification or studying towards Level 3 Diploma in Residential Care for Children
