The Role
As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils across the school with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning and achieve their full potential.
You will be working with children with needs including:
- Autism (ASC)
- ADHD
- Global Developmental Delay
- Down Syndrome
- Speech, Language and Communication Needs
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Support may be delivered on a 1:1 basis, in small intervention groups or within the classroom alongside the class teacher.
Previous experience supporting children or young people is desirable, but not essential. Most importantly, we are looking for someone with patience, empathy, resilience and a genuine passion for helping children succeed.

Salary:
£100.14 per day to start, increasing to £122 per day after 12 working weeks.

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will have a safeguarding responsibility if appointed. The successful Primary Teaching Assistant candidate will be subject to enhanced clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service, and employment will be subject to references. This Primary Teaching Assistant post is not exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
