This is an ad hoc position and does not provide fixed, permanent, or guaranteed weekly hours. Shifts are available each week and are advertised through our workforce management system, where approved Mobile Care Wardens can apply for work on a first-come, first-served basis.
The shifts you can apply for will depend on the locations at which you have been trained and approved to work, as well as any relevant site-specific requirements.
This position is best suited to applicants looking for flexible, additional, or occasional work. Please do not apply if you are seeking guaranteed hours or a permanent, fixed weekly rota.

As a Mobile Care Warden, you will provide security and operational support across a range of supported housing locations. You will play an important role in protecting the safety, security, and wellbeing of residents, staff, and visitors.

Hours and Shift Availability
This role does not provide fixed or guaranteed weekly hours.
Available shifts will be published on our workforce management system, where Mobile Care Wardens can view and apply for work based on their availability.
Shift opportunities may include:
- Evening shifts
- Night shifts
- Weekend day shifts
- Weekend night shifts
- Short-notice cover
- Holiday and sickness cover
- Additional operational requirements
Applicants must have sufficient flexibility to work evenings, nights, and weekends. These availability requirements are essential and non-negotiable.
The number, location, and frequency of available shifts may vary according to operational and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
The role of Mobile Care Warden is varied, and you may be assigned to different supported housing locations. Duties may include:
- Monitoring CCTV systems to prevent and identify unusual, suspicious, or unsafe activity.
- Completing regular patrols of the premises and checking for security breaches, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
- Accurately completing daily occurrence logs, incident reports, welfare records, handovers, and first-aid documentation.
- Identifying and reporting maintenance or repair requirements that may affect the safety, security, or operation of the site.
- Liaising professionally with emergency services, local authorities, clients, and other relevant agencies.
- Completing identity checks and managing entry and exit points.
- Delivering a high standard of customer service to residents, clients, visitors, and colleagues.
- Responding calmly and professionally to incidents, emergencies, and challenging situations.
- Following the site-specific assignment instructions, procedures, and safeguarding requirements at each location.
- Ensuring that the security office and surrounding areas remain clean, tidy, organised, and free from hazards.
As a mobile operative, you must be comfortable working across different locations and adapting quickly to varying site requirements.
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding licence.
- Hold a full, valid UK driving licence.
- Have access to a reliable vehicle that you can use to travel to and from different work locations.
- Be able to work evenings, night shifts, and weekend day and night shifts.
- Be willing and able to travel to a range of supported housing locations.
- Be proficient in both written and spoken English.
- Be able to communicate clearly and professionally with residents, clients, colleagues, and emergency services.
- Be able to complete reports, logs, handovers, and other operational documentation accurately.
- Demonstrate excellent punctuality, reliability, and timekeeping.
- Be comfortable using a mobile app or online system to view, apply for, and manage available shifts.
- Remain calm, professional, and composed when dealing with incidents or challenging situations.
- Demonstrate a respectful, compassionate, and professional approach when working with residents who may have complex or additional needs.
Applying for Shifts
Available shifts will be published through our workforce management system.
Mobile Care Wardens will be able to:
- View available shifts.
- Apply for shifts that match their availability.
- Review shift times and locations.
- Receive confirmation of allocated work.
- Access relevant rota and assignment information.
Applying for a shift does not automatically guarantee allocation. Shifts will be assigned according to operational requirements, suitability, availability, location, performance, and any relevant site-specific requirements.
Once a shift has been accepted and confirmed, you will be expected to attend and complete it in full.
Safeguarding and Background Checks
To protect the individuals we support, successful applicants will be required to complete the following checks:
Five-Year Employment History Check:
You must provide a complete employment history covering the previous five years and account for any gaps.
Employment References:
We will contact relevant previous employers from within the last five years to verify your employment history and suitability.
Additional identity, right-to-work, licensing, and background checks may also be completed as part of the recruitment and onboarding process.
Experience and Training
Previous security experience is not essential, as full training will be provided.
Successful applicants will receive induction and role-specific training before being approved to work across relevant locations.
