Recruitment Consultant – Aviation Engineering
Ready for something with a bit more upside?
Maybe you've spent the last couple of years in insurance, customer service, account management or another phone-based role.
You're good with people. You're commercially switched on. You can handle pressure and you're comfortable picking up the phone.
But you're starting to wonder what the next step actually is.
Or maybe you're already in recruitment and, frankly, the version of recruitment you've experienced isn't what you were sold. Too much pointless KPI chasing, poor management, limited earning potential or a desk that never really felt like yours.
Either way, we should probably talk.
TARCG is hiring two Recruitment Consultants to join our growing team in Exeter.*
We're looking for people who already know what it's like to work in a professional environment and are ready to step up, take ownership and earn properly.
You don't need aviation experience. You don't even need recruitment experience.
*We'll teach you everything you need to know.*
## Who are TARCG?
TARCG – The Aviation Recruitment & Consulting Group – specialises in engineering recruitment and project solutions for the aviation industry.
Put simply, we find the people who keep aircraft flying.
Our customers need skilled engineering teams to maintain, repair and modify aircraft, and we help make that happen.
We're a fast-growing business and we're currently relaunching and expanding some of our key services. That creates a genuine opportunity for the right people to join us now, build their own area of the business and grow with it.
## What will you actually be doing?
This is what we'd describe as a *270° recruitment role*.
You're not going to spend your entire day cold-calling businesses trying to win new accounts. Our Commercial Director and wider senior leadership team take the lead on much of the business development.
But you're not simply an order-taker either.
You'll have your own customers, candidates, vacancies and projects to manage. You'll build relationships, understand what our clients need, find great people and make placements happen.
A typical day could involve:
Speaking with aviation engineering candidates across the UK and internationally
Building and managing your own candidate network
Working on live vacancies and engineering projects
Interviewing and qualifying candidates
Presenting opportunities and negotiating offers
Managing relationships with existing clients
Spotting commercial opportunities within your accounts
Working alongside our Commercial Director and leadership team on new business
Managing the recruitment process from requirement through to placement
Building a desk and reputation that becomes genuinely yours
There's sales involved. There's delivery involved. There's relationship management involved.
*It's recruitment without expecting you to spend eight hours a day hammering through a cold-call list.*
## Who we're looking for
We're much more interested in your attitude and track record than whether you've worked in aviation before.
You could already be a Recruitment Consultant looking for a better environment.
Or you might have spent a few years working in insurance, telecoms, customer service, account management, collections or another commercial phone-based environment and want a career where your earnings can actually reflect your performance.
You'll probably do well here if:
You're confident speaking to people on the phone
You've already experienced the expectations of a professional workplace
You're competitive without being unbearable
Money motivates you
You can build genuine relationships with people
You're comfortable working towards targets
You don't need someone standing over you all day to get things done
You can take a knock, reset and carry on
You want responsibility rather than waiting years for someone to give it to you
You like the idea of owning your own piece of a growing business
Recruitment experience is useful.
*Potential is more important.*
## What you'll get
*£27,000–£30,000 basic salary*
*Uncapped commission*
A realistic OTE for someone performing well is *£55,000–£60,000* – and there's no artificial ceiling if you want to earn more.
You'll also get:
Full recruitment and aviation industry training
Clear career progression from day one
Monthly incentives and competitions
All the technology, systems and tools you need to perform
Support from an experienced commercial and leadership team
Free on-site parking
Monday–Friday working hours
08:00–16:30 standard hours, with some flexibility where needed
No weekend work
The opportunity to build and own your area of the business
A growing company where strong performance gets noticed
## What's the office actually like?
Professional, but not corporate.
We're based in a clean, modern office in Exeter. There's music playing, TVs on the walls showing activity stats and competitions, a pool table, darts board and a team that enjoys coming to work.
We take the job seriously.
We don't think that means the office needs to feel like a library.
You'll be given the freedom and tools to perform, backed by people who know the industry and want you to succeed.
In return, we'll expect you to bring some drive of your own.
## Where could this go?
We're growing quickly, and we're not recruiting two Consultants just to fill seats.
We want people who can become genuinely important parts of TARCG.
From day one, you'll know what progression looks like, what you need to achieve to get there and how your earning potential develops along the way.
If you're ambitious, commercially minded and want somewhere you can make your mark rather than simply inherit somebody else's process, there's a lot of opportunity here.
*Interested?*
