We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Carpentry Apprentice to join our construction team. This paid position offers hands-on experience in various aspects of carpentry and construction, providing an excellent foundation for a career in the building trades. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of experienced tradespeople, gaining practical skills across multiple disciplines including fabrication, assembly, and joinery. A keen interest in construction and a willingness to learn are essential for this role.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the fabrication and assembly of timber structures and components using hand tools and power tools
- Support the team in installing roofing, joinery, and other carpentry elements on-site
- Participate in basic masonry, plumbing, electrical, and construction painting tasks as required
- Handle heavy lifting safely to move materials and equipment around the site
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to ensure a safe working environment
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring tools and materials are stored correctly
- Learn to interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications under supervision
- Assist with site preparation, including measuring, marking out, and cutting materials to specification
