Why Work With Us?
At our Totnes site, you won’t just be another number on the shop floor, you’ll be part of a friendly, supportive manufacturing team where people genuinely enjoy what they do. We’re proud of our inclusive culture, our focus on quality craftsmanship, and our commitment to helping every team member grow.
We value hard work, a willingness to learn, and a positive outlook. In return, you’ll get stability, great training opportunities, and the chance to build a long-term future with a company that’s invested in its people.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Fettling Operative, you’ll help transform castings into high‑quality finished components, using both manual techniques and cutting‑edge robotic fettling equipment. It’s hands‑on, varied, and rewarding work. You’ll:
- Carry out manual and robotic fettling to remove excess material
- Use grinders, chisels, sanders, and other tools
- Operate and monitor robotic fettling equipment
- Inspect castings to ensure our high standards are met
- Keep your workspace safe, clean, and organised
- Work closely with a genuinely supportive team
- Play a part in continuous improvement and innovation
No two days are the same and you’ll get the satisfaction of seeing your work contribute directly to the final product.
What Makes You a Great Fit
You don’t need to have done fettling before what matters most is your attitude and your willingness to learn. We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- A hands‑on approach and good mechanical aptitude
- Experience with hand tools or power tools
- A keen eye for detail and commitment to quality
- The ability to work safely and follow processes
- A team‑focused mindset and good communication skills
- Physical stamina for a practical, active role
If you do have fettling or foundry experience or experience with robotic equipment that’s a bonus, but not essential.
What You’ll Get from Us
- A competitive starting pay rate with a clear increase after probation
- Early finish every Friday
- A supportive, friendly team that celebrates success
- On‑the‑job training and opportunities to broaden your skills
- A stable, long‑term role in a growing manufacturing environment
- A workplace where your contribution genuinely matters
