We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated self-employed tutors to provide instruction in English, Maths, and Science.
You may apply for all three subjects or just one e.g. English
The tutoring is face-to-face in Surrey.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to support students in their academic development, foster a love for learning, and make a positive impact on their educational journey. Tutors will work with learners of various ages and abilities, tailoring lessons to meet individual needs. Most of the work will be KS3 and 4, although students may be working at a lower level than their year group suggests.
All tutoring positions are paid, including internships, and are ideal for individuals passionate about education and student success.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective tutoring sessions in English, Maths, or Science based on curriculum requirements
- Assess students’ current understanding and adapt teaching methods accordingly
- Support students in developing problem-solving skills and academic confidence
- Prepare customised lesson plans and educational materials to suit individual learning styles
- Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback to students and parents where appropriate
- Maintain a positive, encouraging environment that promotes active participation and curiosity
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, or programme coordinators to ensure student needs are met effectively
Requirements
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, preferably with children or young learners
- Strong knowledge of English, Maths, or Science subjects at various levels
- Excellent communication skills to clearly explain concepts and motivate students
- Experience working with children or in special education settings is a plus
- Organised approach to lesson planning and student progress tracking
- Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for helping others succeed
- Ability to work independently while maintaining professional standards
- A recent DBS or ability to pass a police check
- PGCE, QTS

Pay: £30.00 per hour
