We re looking for an experienced Tenancy Enforcement Officer to join our Localities team, playing a vital role in protecting our communities by tackling anti-social behaviour (ASB) and serious tenancy breaches. You ll manage complex ASB cases from start to finish, balancing a compassionate, victim-focused approach with confident, evidence-based enforcement to achieve positive outcomes for our customers and neighbourhoods.
Title: Tenancy Enforcement Officer
Location: Brindley Place, Birmingham
Covering: Wolverhampton, Walsall, Telford, West Bromwich and Cannock.
Salary: £40,000-£42,000 plus £750 car allowance
What you ll be doing
As our Tenancy Enforcement Officer, you ll take ownership of complex ASB investigations and tenancy enforcement cases, ensuring every case is managed professionally, fairly and in line with legislation and best practice.
Responsibilities will include
- Managing complex ASB cases from initial report through to investigation, action planning, resolution and closure.
- Taking a proactive, early intervention approach to prevent issues from escalating.
- Gathering evidence through interviews, home visits, witness statements and detailed case records.
- Preparing legal documentation and progressing enforcement action, working closely with solicitors and representing GSA in court where appropriate.
- Supporting victims and witnesses using a trauma-informed approach while identifying safeguarding concerns.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across Housing, Income, Repairs, Support Services and Neighbourhood teams.
- Building strong partnerships with Police, Local Authorities, community safety partners and support agencies.
- Delivering wider tenancy management responsibilities, including tenancy breaches, tenancy sustainment and customer advice.
- Providing specialist guidance on ASB and tenancy enforcement, supporting colleagues with early intervention and best practice.
About you
You ll be a resilient, organised housing professional with excellent communication skills and a passion for creating safer communities. You can confidently manage challenging situations, build positive relationships and make sound, evidence-based decisions.
You ll also have:
- Proven experience managing ASB cases within housing or community safety, including complex and high-risk cases.
- UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
- Experience progressing tenancy enforcement through formal legal processes, including preparing legal documentation and working alongside legal representatives.
- Strong knowledge of housing and tenancy law, including succession, assignments, mutual exchanges and tenancy termination.
- Excellent partnership working skills with internal teams and external agencies.
- Outstanding written communication and case recording skills.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines.
