Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. Duties
- Handle materials with care, including loading, unloading, and moving stock throughout the warehouse using manual handling techniques and forklift trucks when certified.
- Operate warehouse management systems (WMS) to accurately track inventory levels, update stock records, and process order pickings efficiently.
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks by preparing goods for dispatch, verifying shipments against documentation, and ensuring timely delivery.
- Perform picking and packing of orders with precision to meet quality standards and customer expectations.
- Stock shelves and storage areas systematically to optimize space utilization and facilitate easy access for team members.
- Conduct regular quality control checks on stock items to identify damages or discrepancies and report issues promptly.
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform basic maintenance on forklifts or other machinery as needed.
- Support stock rotation procedures to ensure freshness and compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines at all times.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a warehouse environment is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with daily operations such as stock handling, picking & packing, and inventory management.
- Hands-on experience with forklift operation is preferred; certification is a plus but not mandatory if willing to train.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar software enhances efficiency in tracking inventory movements.
- Mechanical aptitude or basic technical skills are beneficial for troubleshooting equipment issues quickly.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail during fast-paced tasks.
- Strong understanding of shipping & receiving procedures ensures accuracy in processing inbound and outbound goods.
- A proactive attitude towards quality control helps maintain high standards across all warehouse activities.
