RE Teacher Jobs in Liverpool – September Starts
Zen Educate is currently recruiting RE Teachers for a number of secondary schools across the Liverpool area. We have recently started working with several multi-academy trusts across the city, each with multiple schools, and we are supporting them with their Religious Education department recruitment for the new academic year.
We are currently looking for 12 RE Teachers across our different partner schools in Liverpool.
To be considered for these RE Teacher roles, applicants must either hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be an Early Career Teacher (ECT).
These RE Teacher roles are ideal for qualified teachers who are looking for a September start and would like the opportunity to be considered for multiple schools through one application process.
Because Zen Educate is working with a number of trusts across Liverpool, each successful RE Teacher applicant may have the opportunity to interview or trial at more than one school. This gives you the chance to meet different RE departments, visit different school settings, and find the role that is the best fit for you.
Trials and interviews for these RE Teacher positions will be taking place throughout June and July, with successful placements starting in September.
The Role
As an RE Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective Religious Education lessons to secondary school pupils. Depending on the school and timetable, you may be teaching Religious Education across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, supporting students to explore different religions, beliefs, ethical issues, philosophy, morality and worldviews.
The successful RE Teacher will be expected to plan and deliver high-quality lessons, support pupils of different abilities, contribute to the wider Humanities or RE department, and help students make strong progress in their learning.
Each school is looking for a committed and enthusiastic RE Teacher who can build positive relationships with pupils, maintain high expectations in the classroom, and contribute to a respectful, inclusive learning environment.
RE Teacher Responsibilities
As an RE Teacher, your responsibilities may include:
- Teaching Religious Education across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
- Delivering lessons on religion, beliefs, ethics, philosophy and worldviews
- Planning and preparing engaging RE lessons
- Supporting pupils with discussion, analysis, reflection and written responses
- Creating a positive, inclusive and respectful classroom environment
- Assessing pupil progress and providing constructive feedback
- Supporting students with a range of abilities and learning needs
- Working closely with the RE, Humanities or wider school team
- Preparing pupils for assessments, GCSE examinations and internal progress checks
- Following school policies on behaviour, safeguarding and curriculum delivery
- Contributing to the continued success of the RE department
The Ideal RE Teacher
We are looking for RE Teachers who are passionate about education and confident teaching Religious Education in a secondary school setting. These roles would suit experienced RE Teachers or ECTs who are looking for a new RE teaching opportunity from September.
The ideal RE Teacher will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be an Early Career Teacher (ECT)
- Experience teaching RE in a secondary school setting, including placements for ECTs
- Strong subject knowledge in Religious Education, ethics, philosophy or Humanities
- Good classroom management skills
- The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons
- A positive and professional approach
- A commitment to supporting pupil progress
- An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one
