Location: Heather Grange, Burnley
Hours: Permanent - Part Time - 12 hours per week
12 hours over two weekdays (6 hour shifts)
Salary: £13.60 per hour
For this role, we are currently considering candidates who live within approximately 15 miles of the Care Home. This ensures commutes are manageable and support your wellbeing and work-life balance. About the role
We are looking for a warm, organised and professional Receptionist to join our team at MHA. This is a key front-of-house role, providing a friendly and reassuring welcome to residents, visitors and professionals, while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the home.
As Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for visitors and telephone enquiries, helping to create a positive first impression and ensuring enquiries are handled efficiently and courteously. You will also provide administrative support to the Home Manager and Administrator as required.
What you will do
- Welcome all visitors courteously, check their identity and establish the reason for their visit.
- Notify the appropriate member of staff of visitors’ arrival and ensure visitors are directed correctly.
- Answer and manage incoming telephone calls in a friendly and professional manner, responding to enquiries or redirecting calls as needed.
- Provide administrative support to the Home Manager and Administrator, including processing documentation.
- Operate office equipment such as computers, photocopiers and other standard office systems.
- Help maintain the security of the home at all times.
- Promote the good reputation of the home through professional conduct and customer service.
- Attend staff and client meetings, training and mandatory courses as required.
- Work in line with MHA policies, including safeguarding, infection prevention, health & safety and equal opportunities.
About you
We are looking for someone who is friendly, calm and confident, with excellent communication and organisational skills.
You will bring:
- Telephone and reception experience, or equivalent customer-facing experience.
- Experience of using Microsoft Office or similar IT systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- A pleasant, professional manner and smart presentation.
- A team-focused approach with the ability to use your own initiative.
- An interest in supporting older people and living out MHA’s values.
