Position Overview:
We are currently recruiting for a Systems Support Analyst to join our IT team based at our Head Office in South Shields. You will provide 1st / 2nd line and desktop support to all Barbour employees across multiple sites and locations globally. The aim is to provide a first-time fix where possible, otherwise ownership is taken for managing an incident or request through to resolution, Working as part of the wider service operations team, the role is varied. The team support approximately 1000 endpoints worldwide, as well as various mobile devices and technologies. The role will involve building, upgrading, and supporting end user devices with various solutions and services in support of the global Barbour IT team.
*The role is based at our Head Office in South Shields and the expectation is 4 days in the office and 1 day of homeworking*
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1st and 2nd line global IT support across 1000 endpoints, resolving issues via the helpdesk through to resolution.

Build, configure, maintain and support end-user hardware, printers, operating systems (Windows, OSX, iOS) and core cloud applications (M365, Teams).

Handle network, wireless, and security software troubleshooting, configuration, and endpoint security maintenance.

Conduct basic system administration, software license compliance, continuous improvement and new starter training.

Effectively communicate system updates and outages, while collaborating with external service providers and vendors.
Skills and Experience:
Essential Requirements:

Education & Qualifications: 5 GCSEs (C+ including Maths / English); ITIL or Microsoft certification desirable.

Technical Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with Windows/OSC/iOS desktop & server OS, Active Directory, M365 suite and ticketing systems.

Infrastructure & Hardware: Good grasp of IP networking, firewalls, switches, VLANs, conferencing tech and PC/OSX imaging.

Core Competencies: Excellent diagnostic / troubleshooting ability, strong organisation skills, commercial awareness, and customer-focused communication.
Desirable Extras:

Experience with M365 / Exchange administration, VMware, backup / DR, retail POS, warehousing systems or AV equipment.

Valid UK driving licence to support multiple sites.
