Chigwell & Hainault Synagogue is looking for a friendly and dependable Caretaker/Cleaner to support the day-to-day running of our community site. This flexible role is ideal for someone who enjoys a variety of tasks and is committed to providing excellent service to our members and visitors.
- Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the synagogue and grounds
- Carry out basic maintenance and minor repairs
- Help prepare rooms and facilities for services, events, and community activities
- Open and close the building as required
- Support health, safety, and security procedures
- Assist with deliveries and general site upkeep
- Previous experience in a similar caretaking, cleaning, or maintenance role
- A trustworthy, friendly, and proactive approach
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Physical ability to move furniture and equipment when required
- Respect for the needs of a diverse community
You'll play an important role in helping create a welcoming, safe, and well-maintained environment for our congregation and visitors. This is a varied position where no two days are the same, and your contribution will make a real difference to our community.
