Role Overview
As a Security Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining the safety, security, and day-to-day operation of the business. You will be responsible for monitoring CCTV systems, conducting regular site patrols, and ensuring company assets, employees, visitors, and premises are always protected. Working proactively, you will identify and report potential security risks, respond to incidents, and support the business in maintaining a safe and secure working environment.
Main Responsibilities
· Monitor CCTV systems and review footage to identify security concerns, incidents, or suspicious activity.
· Carry out regular patrols of the site to ensure the security of buildings, grounds, employees, and visitors.
· Act as the primary point of contact for HGV drivers, vehicle checks, and directing deliveries and collections
· Report maintenance, safety, or operational issues identified during patrols.
· Respond promptly and professionally to alarms, incidents, emergencies, and security breaches.
· Control and monitor access to the site, checking identification and authorising entry where required.
· Investigate and report security incidents, accidents, or suspicious activity, maintaining accurate records and logs.
· Ensure compliance with company security procedures, policies, and health & safety requirements.
· Provide a visible security presence to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorised access.
· Assist with visitor management, contractor access, and site inductions as required.
· Liaise with emergency services, management teams, and external security providers when necessary.
· Monitor fire safety and emergency equipment
· Support site evacuations when required.
· Work in conjunction with other security personnel and management to ensure a comprehensive security approach
· Provide support with any additional responsibilities appropriate to the role and in line with business needs
Skills, Experience and Qualifications required
Essential
· Ability to speak English, written and verbal
· Previous experience as a security guard or in a similar role
· Security certifications (e.g., First Aid, CPR, or any state-required training)
· Trustworthy
· Reliable
· Highly professional
· Strong observational skills with attention to detail
· Demonstrates integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information and security matters
· Ability to work independently, using initiative to identify and resolve issues
· Able to work collaboratively as part of a wider team and build positive working relationships across the business
· Ability to remain calm and act decisively in high-pressure situations
· Knowledge of health & safety and security procedures
· Knowledge of security systems and technology
· Physical fitness and ability to walk and stand for extended periods
· Full Clean Driving Licence
Desirable
·Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, FMCG, or commercial environment.
Pay: £12.71-£15.00 per hour
