About Us
Eternal Lake Nature Reserve is a serene, community-focused sanctuary offering high-quality, plant-based, and alcohol-free food and drink in a natural setting. We are launching an artisan micro-bakery and specialty coffee venue on-site, serving house-made sourdoughs, seasonal plant-based pastries, and baked goods to local visitors, day-trippers, and event guests.
We are looking for a skilled, self-motivated Baker to own kitchen production, develop our plant-based bake lineup, and deliver exceptional fresh produce every weekend.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Production: Execute early morning bakes (sourdough loaves, focaccias, plant-based pastries, cookies, and traybakes) to ensure displays are fully stocked before opening.
- Recipe Development: Collaborate with the General Manager to create seasonal, high-margin plant-based menu items that align with our site ethos.
- Ingredient & Inventory Management: Track ingredient levels, manage bake schedules to minimize waste, and place stock order requests through the General Manager.
- Kitchen Hygiene & Safety: Maintain clean work areas, oversee food prep labeling, and adhere strictly to Level 2/3 Food Hygiene standards and allergen reporting.
Requirements & Experience
- Baking Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of professional baking experience in a bakery, café kitchen, or production space.
- Plant-Based Expertise: Demonstrable experience or strong confidence in vegan/plant-based baking (sourdough, laminated pastry, or dairy-free cakes).
- Reliability & Punctuality: Comfortable with early morning start times (typically 6:00 AM) to meet trade schedules.
- Efficiency: Ability to work cleanly and independently during early hours before front-of-house staff arrive.
