Twyford Care Group is looking for an experienced Mental Health Support Worker to join our supported living services in Derby.
This is a permanent, part-time role supporting adults with mental health needs to live independently and develop the skills, confidence and routines needed to maintain their wellbeing.
We’re looking for someone who is reliable, compassionate and confident providing person-centred support in a supported living or community setting.
The Role
As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will provide practical and emotional support to individuals in their own supported living environment.
Your duties will include:
- Supporting individuals with daily living skills and routines
- Promoting independence, confidence and life skills
- Supporting mental health recovery and emotional wellbeing
- Accompanying individuals to appointments and community activities
- Supporting people to maintain safe and stable tenancies
- Following person-centred support plans
- Completing daily notes, records and other relevant documentation
- Working as part of a supportive wider care team
- Promoting a safe, respectful and positive environment
About You
We’re looking for candidates who have:
Essential
- Minimum 1 year’s experience in mental health support, supported living, care or social care
- Full UK driving licence, access to your own vehicle and class 1 business insurance required
- Right to work in the UK
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good written and record-keeping skills
- A reliable and flexible approach to work
- The ability to work independently while also contributing to a team
- A genuine interest in supporting people with mental health needs
Desirable
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care
- Previous supported living experience
- Experience within community mental health services
- Understanding of recovery-focused support
- Experience or knowledge of trauma-informed approaches
Hours & Shifts
The role is 18 hours per week, with shifts currently including:
- 9:00am–2:00pm
- 10:00am–2:00pm
- Weekend and Bank Holiday availability required
- Additional ad hoc cover for annual leave may be required

A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for this position.

The role is primarily based in Alvaston (DE24), with opportunities to work across additional supported living services in Derby.
