Activate learning is currently recruiting a Construction Technician to work within our Construction and Engineering faculty based at The Leys college.
About the role as a Construction Technician:
As a Construction Technician, you will work across our Plumbing and Brick workshops supporting our teaching staff and students in both areas assisting with the maintenance of workshop machinery and ensure that all facilities are of the highest standard for our students and support the teacher in class.
This is a full time (37 hours per week), permanent contract.
What do you need to be a successful Construction Technician at Activate Learning?
You will have experience in general construction with knowledge of Plumbing and bricklaying would be an advantage. You will be responsible for maintaining a wide range of tools and equipment within a workshop environment, ensuring they are safe and fit for purpose. You will also oversee the health and safety of the workshops and machinery, so experience of working in a similar environment and a sound understanding of safe working practices are essential.
The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and time management skills and be able to support teaching staff during practical sessions when required. While you will not be expected to teach or lead classes independently, you will play an important role in supporting learners and the effective delivery of practical activities. You will also be responsible for ordering tools and equipment to ensure workshops remain fully stocked and operational.
