We have an exciting opportunity for a Site Operative to join Brett Aggregates at our recycling operation in Hithermoor, Staines.
Working as part of a dedicated site team, you will play a key role in the safe and efficient operation of the facility. This hands-on position involves operating heavy mobile plant, managing stockpiles, loading customer and company vehicles, and supporting the day-to-day running of the site.
Safety is at the heart of everything we do, and you will be expected to promote and maintain high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance while contributing to the continued development and success of the operation.
About Your Role
- Operating a wheeled loading shovel and/or 360° excavator safely and efficiently
- Loading customer vehicles and company HGVs with recycled aggregates and materials
- Managing and maintaining aggregate stockpiles
- Supporting the safe, compliant and efficient running of the site
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in line with company policies and industry regulations
- Monitoring plant performance and carrying out routine inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Working closely with colleagues, customers, suppliers and contractors to ensure smooth site operations
- Acting as a key point of contact for inbound and outbound material movements
- Promoting a positive safety culture and maintaining high standards of housekeeping across the site
- Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and add value to the business
We're Looking For
- Experience operating a wheeled loading shovel and/or 360° excavator within a quarrying, recycling, waste, aggregates or similar heavy industry environment
- A strong commitment to Health, Safety, Environment, Quality (SHEQ) standards
- Experience operating, inspecting and maintaining heavy plant and equipment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- The ability to organise and prioritise your workload effectively
- A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
- A willingness to undertake training and development, including working towards a QCF qualification in Mobile Plant Operations if not already held
