Activities & Events Lead / Assistant Lead – On-Site & Off-Site
Future Survival – Gravesend
Full UK Driving Licence Required
Future Survival is looking for a confident, reliable and hands-on Activities & Events Lead and Assistant Activities & Events Lead to join our team, supporting the delivery of activities at our Gravesend activity centre and at off-site events across the local area.
We are open to candidates at different levels of experience. The Activities & Events Lead will take greater responsibility for shifts, staff and activity delivery, while the Assistant Activities & Events Lead will work alongside our senior team and develop towards taking greater responsibility as their experience and training grows.
Importantly, both roles are practical activity-delivery positions. We need people who are comfortable being trained to lead and run activities themselves, including Airsoft, Laser Tag, Archery, Nerf and Shooting Range activities, while also being willing and comfortable supporting activities within our Games Room when required.
This is not a driving-only position and it is not limited to external events.
Both team members will regularly work at Future Survival, running activities, supporting bookings, preparing equipment, supervising customers and helping maintain standards across the centre. They will also support the delivery of activities at schools, community events, festivals and other external venues.
Our activities include:
- Airsoft
- Laser Tag
- Archery
- Shooting Range activities
- Nerf
- Games Room activities
- Team-building activities
- School and educational bookings
- Birthday parties
- Community events
- Holiday clubs and programmes
- Off-site activity events
You do not need to already be qualified or experienced in every activity, as training can be provided. However, you must be comfortable learning to lead practical activities such as Airsoft, giving safety briefings, enforcing rules and confidently managing groups.
You must also be comfortable supporting our Games Room activities, including parties, clubs and group bookings. You do not need to be an expert gamer, but you should be willing to learn how the equipment and systems work and be confident helping customers use them.
Main Responsibilities
Depending on whether you are appointed as Lead or Assistant Lead, responsibilities will include:
- Lead and support activities at the Future Survival centre in Gravesend.
- Personally deliver activities including Airsoft, Laser Tag, Archery, Nerf and other sessions once appropriately trained.
- Support Shooting Range activities once appropriately trained.
- Support Games Room activities, parties, clubs and bookings when required.
- Help customers use gaming equipment and support the safe and appropriate running of Games Room sessions.
- Deliver clear activity instructions and safety briefings.
- Confidently enforce activity rules and safety procedures.
- Support the day-to-day running of parties, group bookings, school visits and events.
- Prepare activity areas and equipment before sessions begin.
- Check that equipment is safe, complete and ready for use.
- Support and supervise team members during activities and events.
- Help allocate tasks and make sure staff understand their responsibilities.
- Work flexibly across different areas of Future Survival depending on bookings and operational requirements.
- Support the opening, running and closing of the activity centre when required.
- Assist with holiday clubs, team-building sessions, school visits and community bookings.
- Drive company vehicles to schools, community events and other off-site bookings.
- Safely transport staff, activity equipment and event materials.
- Set up, deliver and pack down off-site activities and events.
- Complete vehicle, equipment and safety checks before and after activities and events.
- Monitor equipment condition and report faults, damage or missing items.
- Support the cleaning, organisation and secure storage of activity equipment.
- Assist with stock checks and identify equipment or supplies that need replacing or ordering.
- Complete attendance records, incident reports, equipment checks and other required paperwork.
- Maintain high standards of customer service, safety, cleanliness and presentation across the centre.
- Help identify opportunities to improve activities, develop new packages and increase bookings.
Activities & Events Lead
The Lead will also be expected to:
- Take responsibility for activity delivery during allocated shifts.
- Coordinate staff and activity areas.
- Make practical decisions when issues arise.
- Ensure activities are properly prepared and delivered to the required standard.
- Act as shift lead when required.
- Support and develop less experienced members of the activities team.
- Work closely with our Senior Activities & Events Lead and management team.
- Help ensure staff are being used effectively across the centre.
- Take responsibility for making sure activities and events are fully prepared, safely delivered and properly packed away.
- Step in and support different areas of the business when operationally required.
Assistant Activities & Events Lead
The Assistant Lead will:
- Work alongside the Lead and senior team to support activity delivery.
- Take responsibility for individual activities and groups once trained.
- Help supervise staff and activity areas.
- Develop the skills needed to take greater responsibility for shifts and events.
- Step up to support the Lead when required.
- Be willing to develop towards leading increasingly complex activities and events.
- Support activities across the centre, including both practical activities and Games Room sessions.
- Take increasing responsibility as their confidence, knowledge and training develop.
The Assistant Lead is not simply an assistant standing alongside activities. We need someone who is willing to become confident running sessions themselves, including activities such as Airsoft, while also being flexible enough to support other areas of the centre.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence.
- Able to meet the requirements of the company’s vehicle insurer.
- Confident driving a company vehicle and transporting staff and activity equipment.
- Willing and able to work regularly at Future Survival in Gravesend.

- Comfortable being trained to lead and run activities such as Airsoft, Laser Tag, Archery and Nerf.
- Comfortable supporting Shooting Range activities once trained.
- Comfortable supporting Games Room activities and working with customers using gaming equipment.
- Willing to learn how our Games Room systems and equipment operate.
- Willing to work across different areas of the activity centre rather than focusing on only one type of activity.

- Reliable, organised and able to take responsibility without constant supervision.
- Confident working with children, young people, families and adult groups.
- Willing to work daytime, evenings, weekends and school holidays.

- Able to remain calm and make sensible decisions in a busy environment.

Experience in one or more of the following would be beneficial, but training can be provided:
- Leading activities, events or sports sessions.
- Airsoft.
- Laser Tag.
- Archery.
- Nerf or similar activities.
- Games Room, gaming venue or esports activities.
- Outdoor education or youth work.
- Activity centres, leisure venues or visitor attractions.
- Working with children or young people.
- Supervising staff or volunteers.
- Driving a van or larger company vehicle.
- First-aid or safeguarding qualifications.
- Team-building activities.
- School or community events.
The People We Are Looking For
We need people who enjoy being actively involved in running and supporting activities across Future Survival, rather than simply organising them from the sidelines.
You should be comfortable standing in front of a group, explaining an activity, delivering a safety briefing and taking responsibility for making sure rules are followed.
For activities such as Airsoft, this means being comfortable working in an active environment, learning the equipment and rules, supervising players and confidently stepping in when safety procedures need to be enforced.
You must also be willing to support our Games Room activities when required. You do not need to be an expert gamer, but you should be comfortable around gaming equipment, willing to learn how our systems operate and able to help customers, parties, clubs and groups have a positive experience.
We are looking for flexible team members who are happy moving between different areas of the business depending on what is happening that day. One shift could involve Airsoft or Laser Tag, while another could involve a birthday party, school group, Games Room session or off-site event.
You should take ownership rather than always waiting to be told what to do. We want people who notice when equipment needs preparing, when an activity area needs attention, when another team member needs support or when something has not been completed to the expected standard.
You must be friendly and encouraging with customers while also being confident enough to enforce safety rules, deal with problems and maintain professional standards.
These roles would suit people who enjoy practical work, leading activities, working with children and adults and being part of a varied working week where no two days are exactly the same.
Applicants with strong potential who are not yet ready to take on the full Lead position may be considered for the Assistant Activities & Events Lead role, with training and development provided.
