We are looking for a passionate, caring and motivated Senior Residential Support Worker to join our therapeutic children's home in Mickleover.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop your leadership skills, support a dedicated residential childcare team and make a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people every day.
Our welcoming 4-bedroom Ofsted-regulated children's home provides a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment for children and young people aged 6 to 18 years with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
We use a child-centred and PACE-informed approach, helping every young person build confidence, resilience, independence and brighter futures.
The Role: Senior Residential Support Worker
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in providing high-quality therapeutic care while supporting the day-to-day leadership and smooth running of the children's home.
You will lead by example, support Residential Support Workers and help ensure that children and young people receive consistent, high-quality care that promotes their wellbeing and achieves positive outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing high-quality therapeutic care and support to children and young people within a residential children's home.
- Leading shifts and helping to ensure the smooth running of the home.
- Supporting, mentoring and motivating Residential Support Workers.
- Building positive, trusting relationships with children and young people and acting as a consistent role model.
- Promoting emotional wellbeing, positive behaviour, independence and personal development.
- Contributing to care planning, safeguarding and achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.
- Maintaining high standards of care in line with Ofsted regulations and safeguarding requirements.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for every child.
About You
We are looking for an experienced, committed and resilient individual who is passionate about improving the lives of children and young people and is ready to take on greater responsibility within a residential childcare setting.
You will ideally have:
- Experience working in a Children's Residential Care or residential childcare setting.
- Experience as a Residential Support Worker, Children's Support Worker or similar care role.
- A caring, positive and proactive approach.
- Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills.
- A genuine commitment to therapeutic and child-centred care.
- A sound understanding of safeguarding and children's wellbeing.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and lead by example.
- A full UK driving licence (preferred).
