Due to continued growth, Chris The Crane & Son (C&S Transport) is looking to recruit an experienced Beavertail Wagon & Drag Driver to join our professional team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work for a well-established family-run business operating one of the most modern fleets in the industry, transporting plant, cabins and containers throughout the UK.
The Role
As part of our operations team, your duties will include:
- Transporting a wide range of plant and machinery safely and efficiently.
- Delivering and collecting cabins and containers to sites across the UK.
- Assisting our lorry loader crane operators with the installation of staircases, linking and stacking of cabins and containers.
- Loading, unloading and securing plant, cabins and containers using industry best practices.
- Carrying out daily vehicle inspections and ensuring your vehicle is kept clean and maintained to the highest standard.
- Completing all transport documentation accurately.
- Providing a professional, courteous and helpful service to customers on site.
- Working in accordance with company Health & Safety procedures and industry regulations.
- Nights away will be required but are not guaranteed, depending on operational requirements.
Essential Requirements
- Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence.
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Proven experience driving a Beavertail Wagon & Drag.
- Previous plant moving experience is essential.
- Good knowledge of load restraint and safe loading procedures.
- A positive attitude with excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to assist colleagues on site during lifting operations.
Desirable
- Experience transporting cabins and containers.
- Experience assisting with cabin installations, staircase fitting, linking and stacking operations.
- NPORS or CPCS plant tickets.
- ALLMI qualification.
- Telehandler or forklift experience.
What We Offer
£15.00 per hour up to 50 hours with 50 hours been guaranteed
Any hours after 50 hours - £22.50 per hour
Saturday - £22.50 per hour
Sunday - £30.00 per hour
Night away from Home Tax free - £30 per night (£25.00 night away allowance, £5.00 meal allowance )
SNAP HGV Parking paid for including meal voucher.
After 6 month of service you will be added to our Company Private medical insurance for you and your Immediate family (partner and children)
