Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Shop Assistant to join our team in providing excellent customer service and supporting daily operations within our establishment. Responsibilities
- Prepare food items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring quality and presentation.
- Serve customers efficiently, taking orders accurately and providing friendly assistance.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the shop area, including kitchen and serving spaces.
- Uphold food safety standards at all times, adhering to hygiene protocols.
- Assist with basic kitchen tasks such as ingredient organisation, stock replenishment, and equipment cleaning.
- Support upselling initiatives by suggesting additional items or specials to customers to enhance their experience.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service and order fulfilment.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments using the point-of-sale system.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, café, or food service environment is desirable.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety regulations.
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and stock counts.
- Experience with serving customers in a fast-paced setting.
- Kitchen or culinary experience is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn is key.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods.
