Temp All Staffing Ltd are recruiting for a Social Worker on behalf of our client. The purpose of this role is to provide statutory social work services to vulnerable individuals and families. The focus centers on protection, prevention, and safeguarding to improve quality of life. This role requires a fully qualified Social Worker with post-qualification experience. You will manage your own caseload, receive professional supervision, and work in multi-agency settings.
Key Accountabilities
- Assess Need: Undertake assessments of need and risk to inform evidence-based care planning.
- Conduct Enquiries: Lead safeguarding enquiries in line with legislation and statutory guidance.
- Apply Think-Family: Take a holistic family approach to safeguard individuals.
- Make Decisions: Provide professional input to evidence-based, risk-informed decisions.
- Design Plans: Create strengths-based, outcome-focused plans for individuals and carers.
- Review Care: Monitor delivery of plans and adjust them to meet changing needs.
- Manage Risk: Identify, monitor, and escalate risks to minimize danger early.
- Promote Inclusion: Reduce discrimination and remove barriers to service access.
- Build Relations: Form collaborative, person-centered relationships with service users.
- Hold Caseloads: Manage a varied caseload including complex and higher-risk cases.
- Partner Multi-Agency: Work across organizational boundaries with other professional teams.
- Maintain Records: Keep accurate, auditable case files according to local policies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required
- Qualification: Degree or post-graduate qualification in Social Work (CSS, CQSW, Dip SW).
- Registration: Current active registration with Social Work England.
- Experience: Post-qualifying experience in statutory social work risk assessments.
- Caseload Mastery: Proven experience managing a varied and complex caseload.
- Training: Additional training in Safeguarding or Signs of Safety (Levels 2/3).
- Legal Knowledge: Deep understanding of legislation, statutory guidance, and SWE codes.
- Analysis Skills: Ability to critically analyze and respond to complex risks.
- Communication: Clear, empathetic communication to encourage effective decision-making.
- Autonomy: Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time.
Dimensions of the Role
- Staff: No direct supervisory requirements.
- Mentoring: May mentor students or ASYE individuals.
- Budget: No direct budget management.
- Fiscal Duty: Maintain awareness of spend when planning packages.
- Planning: Ability to react quickly to unplanned situations.
