Closing date 28th August 2026
Masham & Kirkby Malzeard Surgery, North Yorkshire
We are looking for an enthusiastic, patient-centred Practice Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team in rural North Yorkshire. We are open to discussing flexible working patterns.
This role has recently become available again after a candidate withdrew shortly before starting – so we are keen to hear from suitable applicants as soon as possible.
This is an excellent opportunity for:
- An experienced Practice Nurse seeking a varied and rewarding role, or
- A motivated nurse (primary or secondary care) looking to transition into General Practice
We are particularly interested in candidates with (or willing to develop) skills in chronic disease management, especially cardiovascular and respiratory care.
About the Role
You will work across our two sites in Masham and Kirkby Malzeard as part of a close-knit multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality, patient-focused care.
Your role will include:
- Routine practice nursing duties (e.g. immunisations, wound care, cervical screening, health promotion)
- Supporting and developing chronic disease management clinics
- Maintaining accurate clinical records using SystmOne
- Supporting infection prevention and control processes with the opportunity to become lead for infection control across both sites.
- Contributing to quality improvement and patient safety
You will be supported by our experienced GP Partners and colleagues, with the opportunity to shape and develop your role over time.
Training & Development
We are committed to supporting professional development and can offer:
- Training in chronic disease management (including respiratory and cardiovascular care)
- Support for relevant courses and ongoing learning
- Opportunity to develop a specialist clinical interest and take a lead role within the practice
- Ongoing support and mentoring from experienced colleagues
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is patient-focused, motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Has strong communication and organisational skills
- Is adaptable and keen to develop new skills
- Holds a full UK driving licence (essential due to dual-site working in a rural setting)
Experience in primary care is desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
Why Join Us?
- Supportive, friendly and well-performing rural practice with a strong team ethos
- Varied and interesting clinical work
- Opportunity to develop specialist interests and shape your role
- NHS Pension Scheme
- Competitive salary dependent on experience.
