The Role
This is a business development role responsible for identifying commercial opportunities within both the UK and international markets. The successful candidate will combine market intelligence, client relationship management, commercial analysis, and international business development to help expand the Company's consulting services and strategic partnerships.
The role requires identify emerging market opportunities, develop business growth strategies, strengthen the Company's market presence, and build long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement national and international business development strategies aligned with the Company's commercial objectives.
- Identify new business opportunities across the UK and overseas markets through market intelligence, research, and networking.
- Conduct detailed market research, competitor analysis, and commercial feasibility studies to support strategic decision-making.
- Build and maintain relationships with prospective clients, strategic partners, universities, technology companies, investors, and other commercial stakeholders.
- Prepare business proposals, client presentations, capability statements, and commercial reports.
- Develop and maintain CRM records, business pipelines, and commercial performance reports.
- Work with senior management on partnerships, contract negotiations, and long-term client relationship management.
- Produce regular reports analysing business development performance, market opportunities, and future growth initiatives.
Essential Requirements
Applicants should demonstrate:
- A bachelor's degree (or above) in Business, International Business, Marketing, Business Analytics, Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience in business development, commercial strategy, international marketing, market research, or consulting.
- Experience conducting market intelligence, competitor analysis, and commercial research.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and provide strategic recommendations.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience developing business proposals and building client relationships.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple commercial projects simultaneously.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable Requirements
The following would be advantageous:
- Experience within consultancy, professional services, SaaS, technology, AI, education, or international trade sectors.
- Experience supporting international market expansion or cross-border commercial activities.
- Experience in website development, digital marketing, CRM systems, or marketing automation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with international clients and stakeholders.
- Additional language skills would be advantageous due to the Company's expanding international client portfolio.
Pay: £55,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
