Pro Medics UK Ltd is a growing, independent pharmaceutical wholesaler supplying medicines and healthcare products to veterinary practices across the UK.
We're looking for an organised, commercially minded Pharmaceutical Buyer to join our friendly team and play a key role in the next stage of our growth.
This isn't a large corporate procurement role where you're simply raising purchase orders. As part of a growing independent business, you'll have real influence over purchasing decisions, supplier relationships and stock strategy, playing a key role in ensuring our customers receive the products they need, when they need them.

The Role
You'll be responsible for purchasing pharmaceutical and healthcare products, ensuring excellent product availability, competitive pricing and strong supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Purchasing pharmaceutical and healthcare products from UK suppliers.
- Building and developing long-term supplier relationships.
- Negotiating pricing, availability and delivery schedules.
- Monitoring stock levels and raising purchase orders.
- Managing supplier shortages, back orders and delivery issues.
- Identifying opportunities to improve margins and reduce purchasing costs.
- Sourcing new products and identifying alternative suppliers.
- Working closely with our sales, warehouse and operations teams to meet customer demand.
- Maintaining accurate purchasing records and supplier information.
- Helping improve procurement processes as the business continues to grow.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience in purchasing, buying or procurement.
- Is highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Is commercially aware and confident negotiating with suppliers.
- Is confident communicating with suppliers by telephone and email.
- Builds strong professional relationships.
- Can prioritise workloads and work independently.
- Is comfortable using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Wants to build a long-term career in procurement within a growing healthcare business.
Experience within pharmaceuticals, healthcare, wholesale or distribution would be advantageous, but we're equally interested in talented buyers from other industries who are keen to learn.
