Job Description: Maintenance Person
Responsible to: Maintenance Supervisor
Job Specific:
- Ensure the Care Home and its grounds are maintained to a high standard of maintenance at all times
- Ensure all equipment and chemicals are used appropriately and stored in a locked cleaning cupboard
- Ensure compliance to Health & Safety and Fire Safety guidelines at all times
- Understand and comply with COSHH and Health & Safety Regulations
- Be aware of properties and applications of all chemicals and use in appropriate manner
- Ensure all electrical equipment is checked regularly and carry out all PAT testing throughout the Care Home
- Check the maintenance board on arrival and complete jobs in a timely manner
- Carry out any repairs and maintenance where possible, or liaise with external provider to complete the work
- Carry out following tasks as required:
- Painting and decorating
- Gardening and grass cutting
- Repairs and upkeep
- Stable management for ponies
- Complete monthly checks:
- Fire extinguishers
- Wheelchairs
- Complete weekly checks:
- Water temperature
- Fire bell
Everyone:
- Act as an advocate for residents at all times
- Observe and maintain confidentiality for residents and staff at all times
- Act as a role model and be a good team player
- Communicate in a kind and effective way
- Attend and contribute to any relevant meetings
- If you observe anything related to the residents care then get assistance from care department
- Take care of all equipment and use it appropriately. Report any damages, defects, thefts, breakages and hazards
- Ensure person centred care is in place for residents
- Provide any other duties which may be required, consistent with the level of responsibility of the position
- Observe and abide by all polices
- Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to further professional development
- Complete all mandatory training in a timely manner
