An opportunity has arisen to join one of the leading law firms in Cornwall and Devon as a Senior Lawyer within our Residential Property Department.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced property lawyer to play a key role in the continued growth and success of our highly regarded Residential Property team. You will manage a complex and varied caseload, develop strong client and introducer relationships, and support the development of colleagues within the department.
This role would suit an experienced Residential Property Lawyer who is looking to take the next step in their career, influence the future direction of a growing team, and play a significant part in the development of the department.
What you will do:
Manage a diverse caseload of residential property matters from instruction through to post-completion, including:
- Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
- Equity release
- Buy-to-let transactions
- Right to Buy matters
- Lease extensions
- New build developments
- Shared ownership and affordable housing
- Auctions
- Registered and unregistered land
Handle complex and technical conveyancing matters, including:
- Easements and rights of way
- Restrictive covenants
- Adverse possession claims
- Title defects and title investigation
- Land Registry and boundary issues
Create, maintain and develop relationships with estate agents, financial advisers, developers and other professional introducers.
- Act as a trusted adviser to clients, delivering excellent service and practical commercial advice.
- Support, mentor and share knowledge with junior members of the team.
- Contribute to the ongoing growth, profile and success of the Residential Property Department.
Experience and Qualifications you need:
- Qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or Licensed Conveyancer.
- Significant post-qualification experience managing a broad residential property caseload independently.
- Proven ability to handle complex conveyancing matters and provide technical guidance.
- Strong networking and business development skills, with an ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Experience of mentoring or supporting colleagues would be advantageous.

This is a full time position. 35 hours a week Monday to Friday however we welcome applications from candidates looking for alternative working arrangements.
