Job Overview
We are looking for a Trainee Saw Operator to join our workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career within the stone worktop industry. You will receive hands-on training to safely operate bridge saw machinery and assist in the production of high-quality granite, quartz, and porcelain worktops.
This role would suit someone practical, reliable, and eager to learn, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Assist in operating bridge saws to cut stone slabs to required sizes and specifications.
- Learn to read and follow job sheets, cutting lists, and basic technical drawings.
- Support the loading, unloading, and positioning of stone slabs using lifting equipment.
- Work alongside experienced operators to develop skills in machine setup and operation.
- Ensure all work is carried out accurately and in line with Cambrian Granite’s quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including correct use of PPE.
- Assist with general workshop duties as required.
Requirements
- No previous experience required, but experience in a workshop or manufacturing environment is advantageous.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Good attention to detail and a positive attitude towards quality workmanship.
- Physically capable of working with heavy materials in a hands-on environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to take instruction.
Pay: £16,640.00-£26,437.00 per year
