Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts to load, unload, move, and position materials within the warehouse or loading areas
- Use warehouse management systems to track inventory movements accurately and update records in real-time
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities by verifying shipments against documentation and ensuring proper storage
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic repairs or notify maintenance for mechanical issues
- Handle materials with care, ensuring proper stacking, labeling, and storage to prevent damage or safety hazards
- Support warehouse organization by maintaining clean workspaces and ensuring aisles are clear for safe operation
- Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and audits to maintain accurate stock levels
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or similar environment
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory tracking software
- Mechanical knowledge sufficient to perform basic equipment repairs or troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of materials handling procedures and safety protocols
- Ability to lift heavy loads consistently and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments
- Prior experience in shipping & receiving processes is highly desirable
