Job Summary
Due to health issue with our wonderful, existing podiatrist, we are seeking a dedicated and skilled Locum Self Employed Podiatrist to provide high-quality foot and lower limb care within a dynamic healthcare setting initially for a 2 week period from Monday 24 August.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background in podiatry, with excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver patient-centered services. As a locum professional, you will have the flexibility to work independently while maintaining high standards of clinical practice, ensuring patients receive effective treatment and advice for their foot health needs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients presenting with various foot and lower limb conditions, including skin and nail disorders, and diabetic foot problems.
- Develop personalized treatment plans based on thorough clinical evaluations, utilizing evidence-based practices.
- Perform a wide range of podiatric procedures, wound management, orthotic fitting, and footwear advice.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and data protection standards.
- Communicate clearly with patients to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and self-care advice, fostering understanding and engagement.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols, infection control measures, and professional standards at all times.
- Manage your own schedule efficiently to meet appointment demands while maintaining quality care delivery.
- Be able to perform SWIFT verruca treatment and Verrutop.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Podiatrist within a clinical or community setting.
- Demonstrable knowledge of current podiatric techniques, equipment, and best practices.
- Strong communication skills in English to effectively interact with diverse patient populations and team members.
- Experience utilizing IT systems for patient record management and appointment scheduling.
- Ability to teach or explain complex foot health concepts clearly to patients of varying ages and backgrounds.
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills to manage your workload independently as a self-employed professional.
- Prior experience working in a flexible locum or temporary capacity is advantageous but not essential.
