Evaglades house is caring home offering individualised care to children aged 7-18. Our aim is to create an environment where the voice of our children really matters. Duties and Responsibilities

You must undertake an enhanced DBS Disclosure check prior to their employment and then on a 3-yearly update.
Safeguarding training must be undertaken as per regulations.

To assist your manager and team to ensure the efficient operation of the service in accordance with the relevant legislation, procedures, policies and the Statement of Purpose for the home.
To plan and lead shifts incorporating the children’s needs, wishes and feelings.
To lead the team and support development of others.
To complete supervisions as directed by the manager.
To take on call duties to support the home.
Responsibility for safeguarding and promoting individual rights, providing outstanding quality care where differences are respected and valued.
Achieve the highest standards of care for the children and young people.
Support the young people in social activities.
To co-ordinate and monitor casework and administrative functions of the home.
To assist and supervise the continual assessment of the needs of the children and young people.
To keep up to date with training and development, enabling the service to have available all necessary skills and levels of expertise to meet the needs of the young people.
Liaise with the various internal and external multi-disciplinary teams. This may also include chairing meetings, reviews and discussions.
Ensure all professional practice and medication processes within the home are conducted in line with personal plans.
To promote appropriate and therapeutic relationships between adults and young people and their families—promoting the children and young people's involvement and participation in the day-to-day life of the home. To be part of an on-call system.
Maintain a clean and safe environment. Ensure that the home is maintained to a high standard and that all repair/maintenance problems are dealt with promptly in accordance with the health and safety at work legislation.
Any other such duties as may be required from time to time by the registered manager or their authorised representatives.
To have a sound understanding of safeguarding and responding to safeguarding concerns

GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
Level 3 or 4 in residential childcare preferable
Experience:
Working in residential childcare with 2 years experience
Licence/Certification:
