The Role:
We are looking for caring, resilient, and enthusiastic Support Workers to join our dedicated team. You will support young people in all aspects of their daily lives, helping them to achieve positive outcomes and reach their full potential.
This is a hands-on role within a residential setting and includes personal care as a core responsibility and we are looking for someone with a passion in supporting young people with additional needs.
Salary
*£31,900 per annum* (unqualified) based on 6 sleeps per month. (Salary: Starting unqualified at £26,500 per annum plus £75 per sleep-in on Full Time)
*Full-Time (40 hours) or Part-Time (20 hours) per week contract*
Shift work - working a two week rolling rota on average
For example:
- Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday
- Week 2 - Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality day-to-day care and support within a residential setting
- Assist with personal care, daily routines, and independent living skills
- Support young people with emotional, behavioural, and social needs
- Promote a safe, structured, and nurturing environment
- Encourage education, hobbies, and community engagement
- Build positive, trusting relationships with young people
- Work in line with care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures
- Maintain accurate records and reports
- Work collaboratively with families, social workers, and other professionals
About the Young People We Support:
We support young people who may:
- Have learning disabilities or additional needs
- Communication and sensory difficulties
- Have experienced trauma, abuse, or exploitation
- Present with challenging behaviour
- Be experiencing crisis or instability
- Require short, medium, or long-term residential care

Requirements:
- A caring, patient, and positive attitude
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to remain calm and resilient under pressure
- Willingness to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
- Comfortable providing personal care
- Experience in residential childcare or learning disabilities (desirable but not essential)
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 3/4 in Health & Social Care or Children & Young People) desirable
- You may be required to work at other homes to support the organisation and there is an expectation that sleep in shifts are completed
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children is highly desirable but not essential.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with children and young people.
- A valid full manual driving licence is essential to facilitate transportation needs.
- Familiarity with creating and following care plans is an advantage.
- IT proficiency is necessary for maintaining records and using relevant software tools.
- A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support others is crucial for success in this role.
- A good sense of humour and ability to keep up with the newest lingo!
