Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Vehicle Technician / Class IV Mot Tester to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles, ensuring they meet safety and quality standards. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostics using schematics and technical manuals to identify vehicle issues accurately.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical components.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out assembly, disassembly, and repair tasks efficiently.
- Repair or replace faulty components, including welding parts where necessary to restore vehicle integrity.
- Assist with equipment repair and maintenance to ensure workshop tools and machinery are in optimal condition.
- Carry out heavy lifting safely when handling engine parts or other heavy components during repairs.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair procedures and addressing client concerns professionally.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed for each vehicle, ensuring compliance with company standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience with vehicle diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of schematics, electrical systems, and mechanical principles related to motor vehicles.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques.
- Ability to interpret technical diagrams and schematics accurately.
- Good understanding of vehicle safety standards and repair procedures.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and working in various workshop environments.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude towards clients.
- Prior experience in equipment repair or maintenance is desirable but not essential.
- Qualified Mot Class IV Tester, preferred.
