About the role
Are you an experienced HR professional with a passion for leadership, customer service, and continuous improvement? We're looking for a Team Leader to join our HR Operational Support Team, delivering high-quality HR administration and operational support across the University.
You'll act as a key contact for faculties and professional service areas, providing expert advice, guidance, and support across a range of HR activities.
You will play a key role in delivering an efficient, customer-focused HR service. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing day-to-day leadership, support and motivation to the HR Operational Support Team.
- Overseeing HR administrative processes to ensure a high-quality, accurate and timely service.
- Offering guidance and advice on HR policies and procedures.
- Supporting the effective use and continuous improvement of HR systems, data management and reporting processes.
- Ensuring compliance with DBS and UKVI requirements and associated processes.
- Developing team capability through coaching, training and ongoing performance support.
For this role, you will work a minimum of 4 hours on Wednesday and full days on Thursday and Friday. Although we can accommodate hybrid working once fully trained, flexibility to be on-site will be expected depending on business needs.

What we’re looking for
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience working in a fast-paced HR administration environment.
- Experience providing accurate HR advice and interpreting policies.
- Strong customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working with HR and payroll systems and managing complex data.
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise competing demands and meeting deadlines.
- A passion for team leadership, development, and continuous improvement.
