Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Oil Tanker Delivery Driver to join our dynamic and well established team. Our company was founded over fifty years ago but now encompasses a modern lorry fleet and new bulk storage tanks. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely transporting bulk liquids via oil tankers to various delivery locations. Your expertise in commercial driving and delivery operations will ensure timely, efficient, and secure deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities
- Safely operate oil tanker trucks to deliver bulk liquids to designated sites, adhering strictly to all safety regulations and traffic laws
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and tanker equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance
- Plan efficient delivery routes, considering traffic, weather conditions, and delivery schedules to maximize productivity
- Load and unload liquids accurately, following proper procedures for handling hazardous materials when applicable
- Maintain detailed records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery documentation
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members to coordinate schedules and resolve any issues promptly
- Follow all company policies and legal requirements related to commercial driving, hazardous materials handling, and transportation safety
Qualifications
- Valid HGV licence with ADR/CDG qualifications and CPC.
- Proven experience in commercial driving and delivery operations, preferably with oil or bulk liquid transport
- Familiarity with domestic oil deliveries is a plus but not required
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to hazardous materials transportation
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record and commitment to safe practices
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as loading/unloading and inspecting equipment regularly
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
