The Role
We’re looking for a proactive and highly organised Aztec Pool Assistant Manager to support the daily operation of our pools, wet leisure areas, and Fire & Ice experience. You’ll help lead a motivated team, uphold exceptional safety and cleanliness standards, and ensure our facilities run smoothly every day.
This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, a passion for customer service, and a commitment to maintaining safe, high‑quality leisure environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operation of all Aztec Club pools and wet leisure facilities, ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality service.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of team members.
- Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, presentation, and equipment functionality, reporting issues promptly.
- Work closely with Managing Directors to enhance products, services, and guest/member experiences.
- Conduct regular check‑ins with Duty Managers, offering feedback and identifying training needs.
- Ensure all new starters receive full departmental induction and complete required HR documentation.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with Health & Safety, Fire Safety, COSHH, and company policies.
- Maintain up‑to‑date Emergency Operating Procedures (EOP) and Normal Operating Procedures (NOP).
- Plan rotas at least two weeks in advance, managing staffing levels and payroll costs effectively.
- Build a positive, motivated, high‑performing team culture.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure smooth operation of pool plant and equipment.
- Monitor operational standards and system performance, keeping the CEO informed of trends or concerns.
- Ensure the Aztec Club remains an accredited training centre and meets all compliance requirements.
- Verify lifeguard qualifications and ensure ongoing certification hours are met.
- Support annual budget preparation, including revenue forecasting and cost control.
- Attend relevant training and adapt to updates in policy and industry standards.
- Follow safe working practices and adhere to all TLH policies and procedures.
Customer Service Delivery
- Provide warm, polite, and professional service to all guests.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and communicate additional needs to Housekeeping.
- Maintain a positive, approachable attitude throughout the resort.
- Support the wider team in delivering consistently high standards across public areas.
- Handle guest feedback professionally, escalating concerns appropriately.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to all TLH Health & Safety policies, including safe manual handling and correct equipment use.
- Complete all documentation for due diligence
- Conduct regular checks of storage areas to ensure safe, hazard‑free environments.
- Use appropriate PPE when required.
- Report accidents, near misses, and hazards through correct channels.
- Ensure safe storage and use of chemicals in line with COSHH guidelines.
- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and correct uniform presentation.
Training & Company Systems
- Complete all mandatory and role‑specific training within required timeframes.
- Attend departmental briefings, Health & Safety reviews, and operational meetings.
- Use the People First system correctly for internal communications, absence reporting, holiday requests, and personal information management.
Requirements
- National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).
- Pool Plant Operations qualification/training.
- Valid DBS check.
- Professional appearance and strong customer service mindset.
- Positive, proactive leadership style.

- Strong problem‑solving ability and calmness under pressure.
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
- Flexible approach to working patterns and resource planning.
Salary: £28.080 per annum 40 hours over 5 days
