Team Leader – Goods In
We are looking for an experienced Team Leader – Goods In to join our Warehouse & Distribution team in Gloucester. You’ll be responsible for leading the day-to-day inbound operation, ensuring deliveries are received, inspected and processed efficiently while maintaining accurate stock records and high standards of customer service.
You’ll lead and motivate the Goods In team, support continuous improvement and work closely with Purchasing, Customer Service and Quality teams to ensure the smooth running of our inbound operation.
Responsibilities

Lead and motivate the Goods In team to achieve daily inbound operational requirements and KPIs.

Oversee the receiving, unloading and inspection of all incoming deliveries.

Ensure deliveries are received and put away within the required 24-hour SLA.

Complete cycle counts and stock verification in line with company requirements.

Maintain accurate inventory records and update ERP/Logia systems.

Monitor fast-moving stock and carry out regular stock checks.

Record details of all incoming deliveries accurately each day.

Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement.

Develop and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Work closely with Goods Inspection, Purchasing and Customer Service teams.

Highlight, manage and escalate quality issues, shortages and inbound NCRs.

Manage team holidays, absence records and day-to-day team queries.

Ensure all warehouse activities are carried out safely and in line with company policies and legal requirements.

Operate warehouse equipment, including flexi trucks, counterbalance trucks and pallet trucks, where required.
Knowledge and Skills
-
Previous experience within a warehouse, logistics or goods-in environment.

Experience leading or supervising a team.

Strong understanding of goods-in, stock control and inventory processes.

Good knowledge of ERP or warehouse management systems.

Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.

Ability to manage priorities and maintain operational deadlines.

Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively across different teams.

Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements within a warehouse environment.

Experience operating warehouse equipment, including counterbalance or flexi trucks, is advantageous.

Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Ability to motivate a team and maintain high standards of performance and customer service.
