Duties
- Excavate trenches and prepare sites for pipe installation using hand tools, power tools, and excavators
- Lay, align, and secure underground pipes according to project specifications and safety standards
- Operate machinery such as excavators and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Weld pipe sections or fittings where necessary to ensure secure connections
- Use hand tools and mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues during installation or repairs
- Assist with electrical wiring or connections related to piping systems when required
- Conduct routine inspections of installed piping for leaks, alignment, or damage during project progress
Requirements
- Proven experience operating excavators and other heavy machinery on construction sites
- Skilled in welding techniques with the ability to join pipes securely
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and their safe operation in a construction environment
- Mechanical knowledge related to piping systems, fittings, and installation procedures
- Electrical experience or understanding of electrical components associated with underground systems is a plus
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards
- Strong teamwork ethic with excellent communication skills and attention to detail
