Summary
To support the finance team by maintaining accurate financial records relating to residential and commercial rental properties. The role ensures landlords, tenants and suppliers are paid accurately and on time while assisting with reconciliations, reporting, and general accounting administration.
Responsibilities
Property Accounting
- Process rental income and allocate tenant payments.
- Record landlord income and prepare landlord statements.
- Process supplier invoices relating to managed properties.
- Raise purchase orders and sales invoices where required.
- Maintain accurate accounting records within the property management system.
- Assist with service charge accounting where applicable.
Bank Reconciliations
- Perform daily bank reconciliations.
- Reconcile client accounts and deposit accounts.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Monitor outstanding balances and aged debtors.
Payments
- Prepare landlord payment runs.
- Process supplier payments.
- Assist with tenant deposit accounting.
- Ensure all payments comply with client money regulations.
Financial Administration
- Maintain accurate financial records.
- File invoices and supporting documentation electronically.
- Assist with month end procedures.
- Support year end audit preparation.
- Assist with NRL returns where appropriate.
Customer & Internal Support
- Respond to landlord, tenant and contractor finance queries.
- Liaise with property managers regarding rent, invoices and maintenance costs.
- Support colleagues with financial information and reports.
Compliance
- Follow company financial procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Client Money Protection (CMP) requirements.
- Support compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) procedures where required.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in an accounts assistant or finance administration role.
- Experience with bank reconciliations.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Experience within residential or commercial property management.
- AAT Level 2 qualified
Pay: £27,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
