Digital Dental Laboratory Technician – Part Time

About the Role
EB Dental is looking for an experienced and highly competent Dental Laboratory Technician to join our in-house dental laboratory in Worcester Park on a part-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technician with strong experience in digital dentistry, CAD/CAM workflows and dental prosthetics who is comfortable managing cases from digital design through to production and finishing.
Our in-house laboratory supports our clinical team with a range of restorative, implant and prosthetic work and is equipped with modern digital technology, including SprintRay 3D printing systems.
We are particularly looking for someone who can work confidently and independently with DTX Studio Lab and exocad.
Our Digital Laboratory
Our laboratory works closely with our dentists, Oral Surgeon/Implant Clinician and wider clinical team, allowing direct communication between the clinician and technician throughout the treatment process.
Our digital workflow includes:
- SprintRay 3D printers
- DTX Studio Lab
- exocad
- Digital intraoral scans
- Digital implant workflows
- CAD/CAM design and production
- 3D printed dental appliances and models
Main Laboratory Work
The successful candidate should have experience producing and/or designing:
- Implant crowns
- Crowns
- Onlays
- Inlays
- Bite guards / night guards
- Full dentures
- Partial dentures
- Digital models
- Temporary restorations where required
- Implant and restorative digital cases
Experience with both fixed and removable prosthodontics would be particularly valuable.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and assess digital laboratory prescriptions and intraoral scans
- Design restorations using exocad and DTX Studio Lab
- Manage digital implant crown workflows
- Design crowns, inlays and onlays
- Design and manufacture bite guards
- Produce full and partial dentures
- Prepare files for 3D printing
- Operate and maintain SprintRay 3D printers
- Manage printing, washing, curing and finishing processes
- Produce accurate dental models
- Check fit, contacts, occlusion and margins before cases are released
- Carry out finishing and quality-control procedures
- Communicate directly with dentists regarding laboratory prescriptions and case requirements
- Work closely with our implant and restorative clinicians
- Help troubleshoot digital scans, designs and manufacturing issues
- Maintain accurate laboratory records
- Ensure laboratory equipment and materials are properly maintained
- Maintain excellent infection-control and health-and-safety standards
- Help develop and improve our in-house digital laboratory workflow
Essential Requirements
We are looking for someone who already has strong dental laboratory experience.
Applicants should have:
- Previous professional experience as a Dental Laboratory Technician
- Appropriate Dental Technology qualification
- Current GDC registration where required
- Strong experience with digital dental laboratory workflows
- Competent use of exocad – essential
- Competent use of DTX Studio Lab – essential
- Experience with CAD/CAM dental design
- Experience with 3D printing
- Understanding of implant restorative workflows
- Experience producing crowns, inlays and onlays
- Experience with bite guards
- Experience with removable prosthetics, including full and partial dentures
- Strong understanding of dental anatomy and occlusion
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to assess the quality and accuracy of completed work
- Ability to work independently
- Good communication skills and confidence discussing cases directly with clinicians
- Excellent organisation and time management

Who We Are Looking For
We are not simply looking for someone to operate a 3D printer.
We are looking for a skilled dental technician who understands the complete laboratory and clinical workflow and can recognise when a design, occlusion, margin or restoration requires adjustment before it reaches the patient.
You should be comfortable communicating directly with clinicians and be able to take ownership of cases from the initial prescription and scan through to the finished restoration or appliance.
The ideal candidate will be experienced, technically confident, precise, organised and comfortable working independently.

Working days and hours will be discussed depending on the successful candidate's availability and the requirements of the laboratory.
