We are seeking a Director of Risk & Compliance who will take full ownership of our risk governance, compliance strategy, and regulatory framework. This is not a purely advisory role—you will be a key decision-maker shaping how the organisation manages risk, regulatory obligations, and financial crime prevention.
You will act as the organisation’s senior authority on compliance, ensuring we operate confidently within FCA and PRA expectations while supporting sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
Risk & Compliance Strategy:
- Lead the development and execution of enterprise-wide risk and compliance frameworks
- Define risk appetite statements and governance structures aligned with business objectives
Regulatory Oversight:
- Ensure compliance with FCA, PRA, AML, KYC, and other UK regulatory requirements
- Monitor regulatory changes and implement policy updates across the organisation
Financial Crime & Controls:
- Oversee AML, fraud prevention, and financial crime compliance programs
- Strengthen internal controls and ensure effective risk mitigation strategies
Governance & Reporting:
- Lead risk reporting to executive leadership and stakeholders
- Maintain accurate documentation for audits and regulatory inspections
Leadership & Advisory:
- Act as the primary compliance authority within the organisation
- Advise senior leadership on regulatory risk and operational impact
- Promote a strong compliance culture across all departments
What We Are Looking For:
Experience:
- 8+ years in Risk, Compliance, or Governance roles within financial services
- Minimum 3+ years in a senior leadership or director-level position
Regulatory Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of FCA and PRA regulatory frameworks
- Experience with AML, KYC, and financial crime prevention systems
Leadership Capability:
- Proven ability to lead compliance functions and influence senior stakeholders
- Experience building or improving governance frameworks
Qualifications (Preferred):
- ICA Diploma, CAMS, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification
Mindset:
- You are structured, analytical, and confident in decision-making
- You balance regulatory rigor with practical business execution
- You can communicate complex compliance issues in a clear and actionable way
Pay: £95,849.70-£136,855.38 per year
