DN Colleges Group is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Maths GCSE & Functional Skills Lecturer to join our English & Maths team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to learners by delivering high-quality Maths GCSE and Functional Skills provision across a range of further education programmes.
You will be passionate about teaching, committed to raising achievement, and able to inspire learners to develop confidence and succeed in mathematics. Working within a supportive and collaborative curriculum team, you will contribute to curriculum development, learner progress, quality improvement, and the delivery of engaging learning experiences that meet individual learner needs.
Actual Salary: £17,131.44 - £21,684.17 + £4,913.30 - £6,219.02 Teacher's Pension Scheme
Working Hours: 18 hours per week
Working Pattern: Mon/Tue/Wed
Essential Criteria
Applicants should be able to demonstrate:
- A relevant degree or professional qualification in mathematics or a related subject.
- A Level 5 teaching qualification, substantial industry experience, or a willingness to work towards an appropriate teaching qualification.
- Experience of delivering GCSE Maths and/or Functional Skills Maths within a further education, higher education, or training environment.
- Strong knowledge of effective teaching and learning strategies, with the ability to utilise innovative approaches and ICT to enhance learning.
- GCSE Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) in both English and Mathematics.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment for GCSE and Functional Skills Maths learners.
- Prepare engaging learning materials, assess learner progress, and provide timely feedback.
- Support curriculum development and contribute to continuous improvement within the Maths provision.
- Manage the classroom environment to ensure learners are supported to achieve their individual goals.
- Contribute to quality assurance processes, course leadership activities, and course verification where appropriate.
- Provide learner guidance, coaching and pastoral support to promote positive outcomes and progression.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the effective delivery and day-to-day running of programmes.
- Participate in professional development activities and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
