Purpose of the Role
To ensure the safety, functionality, and overall upkeep of the building and grounds at Mulberry Manor Care Home. The Maintenance Person supports a safe, comfortable, and homely environment for residents by carrying out repairs, compliance checks, and preventative maintenance.
6. Resident Interaction
- Work respectfully around residents, upholding dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
- Engage warmly and communicate politely when tasks require working near residents.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Skills
- Experience in general maintenance or a trade such as plumbing, electrical work, or carpentry is desirable.
- Strong understanding of health & safety and COSHH guidelines.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to identify issues early.
- Able to prioritise workloads and work independently.
- Good communication skills and a respectful manner.
- Flexible approach to tasks and willingness to assist wider staff team.
Qualifications (Desirable, not essential)
- NVQ or similar qualification in maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, or electrics.
- Experience or certification in PAT testing.
- Full UK driving licence.
