Client Liaison Officer (Onboarder)

As part of our continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Client Liaison Officer (Onboarder) to join our Manchester-based team. Please note: This is a junior / entry level position
This is a key role within the firm, ideal for someone with strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and a genuine interest in developing a career within legal services. There is clear potential for progression within the firm, including opportunities to move into a Paralegal role.
The Role
The Client Liaison Officer plays a vital role in the early stages of a claim, acting as the first point of contact for clients and supporting the onboarding process from instruction through to file handover.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting and sending initial correspondence to clients on new matters, including retainers/authorities to act
- Sending initial correspondence and letters of intent to insurers and solicitors
- Proactively contacting clients via telephone, email, and letter to chase signed retainers
- Answering client queries clearly and professionally
- Managing your own daily task list and diary
- Handling incoming calls and directing them to the appropriate file handler, taking messages where required
- Updating the case management system with accurate and timely information
- Forwarding and filing correspondence to the relevant file handler
- Chasing clients for outstanding information once the retainer has been returned
About You
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with a positive, can-do attitude who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and speaking with clients.
You will have:
- At least 1 year’s experience dealing with customers or clients by telephone
- Have a genuine interest in working in a legal environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A confident and professional telephone manner
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Good problem-solving ability
- Confidence using Microsoft Word and Outlook
- The ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- The ability to use initiative and work independently
- The ability to work well under pressure and to deadlines
