Power Transmission & Distribution | Norwich Substation, BTNO & Major UK Energy Projects
Balfour Beatty Power Transmission & Distribution is seeking a Quality Advisor to support the delivery of critical energy infrastructure projects across the UK. Working across a diverse portfolio that includes major substation developments, BTNO schemes, cable installation projects and transmission network upgrades, you'll play a key role in ensuring quality standards, compliance requirements and customer expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.
What you'll be doing
As a Quality Advisor, you'll work closely with project leadership teams, engineers, construction teams and supply chain partners to promote a culture of quality, assurance and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting project teams in the development and implementation of Quality Plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and assurance activities.
- Reviewing quality documentation and submissions from supply chain partners.
- Monitoring quality performance, deliverables and issue resolution through digital assurance systems.
- Supporting the delivery of project handover documentation in line with customer requirements.
- Assisting with internal and external audits and ensuring compliance with the Business Management System.
- Providing practical quality advice and guidance across project teams and the wider supply chain.
- Supporting quality strategies, lessons learned and continual improvement initiatives.
- Assisting with investigations and reporting relating to quality issues.
- Promoting a Right First Time and Zero Harm culture across all project activities.
- Supporting training and awareness initiatives to help drive quality excellence across the business.
Who we're looking for
We're interested in candidates who have quality, engineering, construction or operational experience gained within infrastructure, utilities, energy, manufacturing or other regulated industries.
Essential:
- Previous Quality experience or relevant operational/technical experience.
- Level 4 qualification (or above) in Quality, Construction, Engineering, Manufacturing or a related discipline, or PCQI qualification.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 terminology and quality management principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence and work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
- CQI Practitioner status, or working towards Practitioner level.
Desirable:
- ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor qualification.
- Experience using digital assurance systems and electronic quality records.
- Experience delivering quality assurance within construction, utilities, power transmission or major infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of sector-specific certifications and quality standards.
