Job Summary
About the Role We are looking for a highly skilled Facility / Mechanical Engineer to join our operational team in Annan. As a key player in our meat processing and agricultural manufacturing operations, you will ensure our plant infrastructure and heavy processing machinery run safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. This is a hands-on role requiring a proactive approach to both preventative maintenance and rapid-response problem-solving in a fast-paced FMCG environment
Responsibilities
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems such as HVAC, pumps, and ventilation equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot issues accurately.
- Conduct inspections of electrical and mechanical components to identify potential problems before they escalate.
- Lead maintenance teams in executing routine checks, repairs, and upgrades to facility systems.
- Apply welding techniques when necessary for repairs or modifications of mechanical parts.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations, including proper use of tools and protective gear.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal client needs promptly and professionally while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
Experience
- Proven experience in mechanical engineering or facility management roles with a focus on electrical systems.
- Hands-on knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used for automation processes.
- Strong understanding of schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals related to mechanical and electrical systems.
- Demonstrated welding skills for repair or fabrication tasks.
- Previous supervisory experience overseeing maintenance teams or projects is highly desirable.
- Excellent command of English for effective communication within diverse teams and with clients.
- Leadership qualities combined with a customer service mindset to foster teamwork and ensure operational excellence.
